Autumn on Lake Ginninderra
It’s my last day of my annual recreation leave. I returned from Hawaii yesterday via Sydney. This morning I went for a walk and enjoyed Autumn on Lake Ginninderra.
My first periscope experience
Today I tried Periscope for the first time. Periscope is a new video app by Twitter.
I was on a walk around Lake Ginninderra again when I received a notification from a Star Trek friend in the USA. She was capturing her cat licking itself. I thought I’d show a bit of my walk.
A walk around Lake Ginninderra with a focus on signs
The weather has been gloomy and I’ve had a lurgy. I decided I needed to move around to at least feel a little better in my head. I took a closer look at the signs around me.
More bracketing on my Sony α7S
It’s a brilliant Sunday morning in Canberra with a few clouds and no wind. Yesterday I went out for a walk and played with the bracketing feature on my Sony α7S. This morning I set the menu to capture five images at a time with a compensation increment of 0.7 EV.
The continuous bracket exposure 0.3 EV on my Sony alpha 7S
This morning I went for a walk around Lake Ginninderra and while I was walking I started playing with the menu on my Sony α7S. While I was stepping through the shooting menu to change from timer (I’d be using the Sony for some food photography as work) to single shot my finger slipped and I noticed more options in this menu. I came across an option for continuous bracket exposure 0.3 EV. I also noticed I could change that to 3 or 5 shots and change the exposure increment from 0.3 to 0.5 to 0.7 to 1 to 2 EV.
Roses from my garden
One of my work mates is very keen on growing roses. One day I mentioned I grow roses in the garden bed in the balcony in the rented apartment. When I explained that I do nothing to maintain the two plants which produce red and pink roses the look on my friend’s face was priceless.
Sailing on Lake Ginninderra
The Belconnen Town Council has been keen to get feedback from residents on how we can best use what we have in Belconnen. I’m keen to see more activity on Lake Ginninderra, like sailing, jet ski racing, remote control boating, fishing, kayaking and canoeing.
Summer has returned to Lake Ginninderra
Summer has returned. The last few weeks have been cold in Canberra with some mornings less than 10 °C. It’s one of the awful things about living at 600 m above sea level and about 300 km inland. It’s been cold and dry, just awful.
Going for a walk around Lake Ginninderra this morning was just great. Clear skies and so peaceful.
Trying out Easy2MapPhotos on an early walk
This is more of a test post. I’ve just installed a new plug in called Easy2MapPhotos The plug in allows me to add a map to each photograph I upload so you can see the location from where the photograph was shot.
